Bobby Cannavale is joining the cast of Mr. Robot, USA Network has confirmed.
The Boardwalk Empire vet has signed on as a series regular, with his character described as a "laconic, no-nonsense used car salesman.” It wasn't immediately clear how his character will be linked to the others.
Unfortunately, along with the good news, USA also announced Friday the show's third season will not premiere in the summer, as the previous two have. Instead, season 3 will arrive in October, allowing creator and showrunner Sam Esmail more time to develop the new episodes after a mixed reception to season 2.
As with previous seasons, Esmail will direct each of Mr. Robot's 10 episodes, with production beginning later this month.
NBCUniversal Cable's chief content officer Jeff Wachtel said in a statement the new season "will engage viewers in a whole new way," promising it will "surprise, challenge and delight the audience."
