Audrey Nuna played SXSW for the first time in March, after previously scrapping plans to perform at the Austin festival because of the pandemic. The singer-rapper, who recently dropped her new single "Starving," featuring Teezo Touchdown, talked with Variance during the fest about why she feels she right at home in the "chaotic energy" of SXSW.
Nuna also talked about how her Jack Harlow collaboration, "Comic Sans," came together, explaining she took a chance and messaged the Louisville rapper, who coincidentally responded back with his verse while Nuna was in the crowd at a Pop Smoke show where 100 gecs was playing. "I was listening to it getting punched in the face during the 100 gecs mosh," she recalled with a smile.
Of course, Nuna has also been hard at work on new music and she expressed her hopes of getting to play a proper tour soon. In the meantime, she teased the idea of new material and getting to play a "new character" in a "new sonic universe."
