AC/DC proved once again why few bands can command a stadium quite like they can, bringing the Power Up Tour to Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, on Sunday night for an evening packed with towering riffs, pyrotechnics and generations of fans singing every word. The Madison stop marked the band's third North American date of the summer run, with support from The Pretty Reckless.
From the opening blast of "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)" through arena-sized staples like "Back in Black," "Thunderstruck," "Hells Bells" and "Highway to Hell," AC/DC delivered the kind of no-frills, high-voltage rock show that has defined the band for decades. Brian Johnson's unmistakable vocals paired with Angus Young's tireless guitar heroics kept the energy soaring, while the band's massive production elevated every chorus and solo into a stadium-wide celebration.
The evening balanced classics with selections from Power Up, giving longtime fans and newer listeners alike plenty to cheer about. Angus Young's extended showcase during "Let There Be Rock" remained a centerpiece of the performance before the band closed with the explosive one-two punch of "T.N.T." and "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)," complete with the cannon fire that has become an iconic part of the AC/DC live experience.
