This week, we got a new gem from the singer-actor Mette Towley (aka METTE), who has shared her new single "Van Gogh."
With a big title like that, you know it's good. But we're hooked! And that's why it's our latest "Big Obsession" selection. One listen and you'll understand why. The song, produced by Jonny Lattimer and Mike Sabath, is a funky, easily danceable pop confection, drawing influence from the likes of Janet Jackson (whom METTE pays homage to on the track) and Madonna, and it's accompanied by a dazzling visual directed by Camille Summers-Valli.
The song comes with news of METTE's debut MetteNarrative EP, which is out Sept. 22 via Since ‘93 and RCA Records. It follows the Minnesota native's past starring role in N.E.R.D and Rihanna's "Lemon" video, having also been a long-standing member of Pharrell Williams' dance squad The Baes. More recently, she appeared in Jennifer Lopez's film Hustlers and as Video Girl Barbie in Greta Gerwig's box office juggernaut Barbie.
