After previously aiming to release their sophomore album in the fourth quarter of 2016, HAIM now plans to release it next summer.
Confirming the followup to their 2013 debut Days Are Gone is indeed finished, the sibling trio said in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly they had to get back to their original form, just the three sisters playing music, pre-Roc Nation deal and pre-Taylor Swift squad.
As we previously reported, Days Are Gone producer Ariel Rechtshaid and former Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmangli were the only non-Haims contributing to the new record. Because according to Alana Haim, there are already "three perfectionists in our band."
Explaining the delay, Danielle simply noted: "These things take time, and we refuse to put out anything we’re not 100 percent in love with." For her part, Este declared: “You don’t even know what’s coming for you. I’m warning you."
It's unclear how soon new music will arrive, but Alana Haim said they plan to "hit the ground running in 2017" and "just tour our hearts out."
