'True Detective' to Feature Three Leads, Set in 'Lesser-Known' California

After last week's miss-information about the upcoming season of True Detective, it's clear the fans want to know what to really expect. So why not hear it straight from the horse's mouth?

Creator Nic Pizzolatto, who has previously suggested the idea of female leads, has revealed in a new interview that he's "working with three leads."

"The characters are all new, but I’m deeply in love with each of them," he said, before explaining that the second season is already starting to manifest with a couple of scripts and plans to start casting "within the coming month."

Unlike the Louisiana-set first season, which starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, Pizzolatto said season two will take place in the "much lesser known venues of California. And we're going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place much like we did in season one."
