Tina Fey's Ellie Kemper Comedy Moving from NBC to Netflix

Tina Fey's forthcoming new comedy series hasn't even started yet and it's already been promised a second season—by Netflix.

Starring The Office vet Ellie Kemper, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt had been picked up by NBC for the fall but it never actually made its way onto the schedule. Thus, Netflix has taken it off NBC's hands and also guaranteed two seasons.

As NBC has struggled with comedies and can't seem to find a spot for Parks and Recreation's final season, the network's entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt on Friday said the Netflix route was "the best possible scenario to launch this captivating new series," calling it an "an instant win-win for everyone."
