Adele's video for her newly released single "Hello" received a hearty welcome on Friday, with 27.7 million views for the clip in its first 24 hours on Vevo.
That officially tally is more than enough to surpass the previous record-holder, Taylor Swift's star-studded "Bad Blood" video, with 20.1 million views in the 24 hours immediately after its May 17 release.
The news comes as "Hello" instantly topped iTunes in 85 different countries upon its release, with pre-orders for Adele's forthcoming album 25 sending the set to No. 1 in as many as 77 countries, according to a rep for the singer.
25, described as the "make-up record" to Adele's previous "breakup record" 21, is due Nov. 20.
