Tegan and Sara are back, with plans to release a new album. And it seems absolutely perfect.

The sister duo on Tuesday confirmed their new record, Hey, I'm Just Like You, will arrive Sept. 27. But it's not as simple as that. Instead, the album is made up of songs they originally wrote back in high school, some of the first music they ever created, tweaked and given new life for 2019.

"While working on our memoir, we discovered lost cassette tapes that had been unheard for over 20 years," said Tegan Quin of the upcoming record, the followup to 2016's Love You to Death. "They contained dozens of our first songs, written between the ages of 15 and 17 ... We immediately recognized the songs as an essential part of our high school story."

Sister Sara Quin promised they made only "minor tweaks to lyrics and structure," intent on staying true to the "original essence of each song."

The trailer for the album really gives a charming glimpse of their plans for the album. Check it out below.
