A music comedy produced by Bruno Mars has been picked up by NBC with a put pilot agreement.
According to Deadline, Mars is teaming up with Empire executive producer Brian Grazer for the untitled project, which will center on a "loud, boisterous and quarrelsome" musical family.
The pilot is being written by Brooklyn Nine-Nine writer Prentice Penny. It will focus the aforementioned family's 10-year-old nephew. And while elements of Mars' past will influence segments of the project, it is not entirely based on his own life.
