After treating fans last month to a new song titled "Airborne," Cut Copy has shared a new single "Standing in the Middle of the Field."
It's the latest track from the band's newly announced album Haiku From Zero, their first full-length in nearly four years, which will arrive Sept. 22 via Astralwerks. The song embodies a theme that is said to engulfs the full record: "the need to cut through the noise, a desire to focus."
"So much of this album is about this mosaic of information, images that we're surrounded by on a day-to-day basis," said Dan Whitford in a statement about the new music. "Sometimes it feels like overload, but there's a weird, random beauty in it. The idea of squeezing poetry from chaos was where the title of the album came from—the idea of finding something poetic in the overload."
Additionally, Cut Copy has announced a North American headline tour, which will follow a handful of previously scheduled shows. Tickets for the new dates go on sale tomorrow (Aug. 11) at 10 a.m. local time, but a fan pre-sale starts today.
