Matthew Chaim has had our attention for a while now, but his latest release is undeniably a favorite.

Today, he released his new single "Sunflowers," a heartfelt and emotional track produced by Kiiara collaborator Rabitt. It was inspired by Chaim's late father's favorite flower. His father passed away when the singer was only 12 years old and this new song is described as an ode to parental loss.

According to Chaim, the track is reflective of "both the helpless sadness of missing him—of missing those days that are now so far gone—and also the anger I have towards him for leaving so early in life."

Originally from Montreal and now based in Los Angeles, Chaim caught our attention in 2016 with an untitled track. He has released new music every year since, including last year's Homemade EP.

As we said at the time that EP was released, don't sleep on this guy. It appears he has more on the way and we already can't stop listening to this new one.
