The BRIT Awards announced this year's nominees on Thursday. On hand to receive two nominations, British soul singer Jessie Ware also performed at the event. This year's BRITs saw Emeli Sandé lead with four nominations. Mumford and Sons, Rita Ora and Mercury Prize winner Alt-J all received three nominations, while Ben Howard, Rihanna, Coldplay, Muse, Paloma Faith, Plan B and Olly Murs all join Ware with two nods each. Amy Winehouse has also received a posthumous award for best British female. The full list of nominations can be seen on the official BRITs website.

President Barack Obama is drawing an A-list of performers for his inaugural festivities, including a massive gala expected to draw more than 35,000 revelers.
Grammy-nominated pop-rock trio fun. will join Katy Perry, Smokey Robinson, Usher, Alicia Keys and Brad Paisley among other stars planning to sing at Obama's inaugural galas Jan. 21 and a children's concert on Jan. 19. Also signed up are Marc Anthony, Stevie Wonder, John Legend and the cast of Glee.
