First, he brought "SexyBack," and now it appears Justin Timberlake is hoping to "Take Back the Night." The pop superstar on Wednesday teased a new track in the form of a simple video. In the clip, he is standing outside a club holding up signs that show the release dates for “Suit & Tie,” “Mirrors,” and The 20/20 Experience. He then reveals a card that reads “Take Back the Night,” but the release date is blurred out. As he walks into the club, a snippet of the tune can be heard.
Los Angeles-based duo Rhye made their television debut Monday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and it will most certainly not be their last. Everything about the emotional, soulful performance of "The Fall" was perfect, ensuring that they will likely be invited back in the future.
Imaginary Cities on Tuesday released their video for "Bells of Cologne," the addictive single off their sophomore record, Fall of Romance. The sci-fi-driven clip features Marti Sarbit and Rusty Matyas performing surrounded by the glow of stage lights. It's quite the big, "imaginative" set of visuals for this indie act on the rise.
Only ten months after releasing her sophomore album, Halcyon, Ellie Goulding will repackage the record and re-release it as Halcyon Days, a set which will now include seven brand new tracks (including her new single "Burn"), due to arrive on Aug. 26. The new version of the album will also include collaborations with Madeon on "Stay Awake," DJ Fresh on "Flashlight" and BURNS on "Midas Touch." The singer on Monday also released a stunning set of visuals for "Burn," a song which is likely to do very well on the charts.
UPDATE (07.09.13): Kanye West on Tuesday
He's the top seller for 2013 albums, and today Justin Timberlake unleashes quite the set of visuals for "Tunnel Vision." The seven-minute clip features JT singing and dancing while beautiful women—who have lost their clothes—appear on the screen.
Just days ahead of her forthcoming album's release, Skylar Grey on Wednesday shared an intimate new video for her latest track, "White Suburban." The song comes off Don't Look Down, her debut record, which releases on Tuesday (July 9).
Janelle Monáe has shared the new video, just as promised, for her latest track "Dance Apocalyptic." And this time, The Electric Lady is letting her hair down and having fun as she and her friends dance "until the end" of the world.
Phoenix on Tuesday premiered the video for “Trying to Be Cool,” the second single from their latest album, Bankrupt!, out now on Loyaute/Glassnote Records. The video was directed by the CANADA collective and was filmed entirely live in full takes of the song. It's a very fascinating, spectacular clip, full of dancers and bubbles and perhaps an artful interpretation of the song's lyrics about pretentiousness.
