Vic Mensa on Monday released the video for his standout track "We Could Be Free."

The powerful visuals arrived today, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, premiering exclusively on Apple Music, with Mensa stopping by Beats 1 to chat with Zane Lowe about the new clip. The song is from Mensa's incredible debut album The Autobiography.

"There's a lot of division, based on a lot of fear," Mensa said. "I wanted to present an alternative without fear, and that's what [the song] represents."

In the newly released video, a young black male is seen surrounded by violence and injustice, but the story first begins with a baby inside a mother's womb. The woman is participating in a protest when a police officer strikes her in the face.

A preview of the stirring clip can be seen on Twitter and the full video is available now on Apple Music.
