On Friday (May 30), The Weeknd brought his "After Hours Til Dawn" stadium tour to Soldier Field in Chicago, delivering a mesmerizing performance to a sold-out crowd. This show marked a significant milestone in his ongoing tour, which began on May 9 in Phoenix and is set to conclude on Sept. 3 in San Antonio. It's one of two nights at Soldier Field, with another show set for Saturday (May 31).

The evening commenced with high-energy sets from Playboi Carti and Mike Dean, setting the stage for The Weeknd's headlining performance. As the night unfolded, the atmosphere intensified, with the artist also known as Abel Tesfaye performed in a flowing black robe and gold mask, surrounded by mysterious, red-cloaked figures also donning shining gold masks.

He delivered a swath of new material from his latest album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, as well as fan favorites such as "Blinding Lights," "Save Your Tears," "Starboy," "The Hills" and "I Can't Feel My Face When I'm With You."

Transitioning from arena shows to stadiums, The Weeknd has elevated his performance with elaborate production elements, the ruins of a city as a backdrop, combined with a massive catwalk and synchronized lighting, creating a visually stunning experience. His vocals, praised for their clarity and emotion, still stand out, proving that his artistry thrives even on the grandest stages.

The show on Friday was a testament to The Weeknd’s evolution as a live performer and his ability to transform a stadium into an immersive musical experience.
