One of our favorites is back with new music just in time for the weekend.

Joshua Speers has released his big, summery new single "Just Kids." And honestly—it feels just right. Accompanied by a video directed by frequent collaborator Gus Black, the sun-drenched track is perfect for your summer playlist, as Speers continues to showcase his evolution as an artist.

"‘Just Kids’ has two parallel story lines,” says Speers. “I was home with my grandmother and she said, ‘I look in the mirror and see this old lady but I have the same brain as when I was 17,’ and something about the way she said it totally blew my mind. At the same time my brother was about to turn 17 and I kept thinking about all the crazy and terrifying things he’s been exposed to. How childhood is forced out of some people and at the same time how parts of adolescence stay with you forever.”

The song is brimming with the big, arena-ready sound we've come to expect from Speers, and this is the latest from his new Midnight Horses EP, which is out Sept. 10 via Warner Records/Let Me Know.
