Last month, Future Islands unexpectedly returned with their new song "For Sure," which followed a three-year hiatus. Now, they've made their return official and shared a new song called "Thrill," along with confirmation of a new album.

The Baltimore outfit, led by Samuel T. Herring, will release their sixth studio record As Long As You Are on Oct. 9, via 4AD, they announced today along with the arrival of a video for "Thrill."

The new project is said to look to the past as well as the future, confronting old ghosts and embracing a new hope. It also finds drummer Mike Lowry officially joining the group as an official member, contributing songwriting for the record.

The band will live-stream a special show from their hometown of Baltimore on Oct. 9 to celebrate the album's release. Further details and merchandise information can be found here.
