Back in May, Gabriel Garzón-Montano shared "Someone," his first song on new label Jagjaguwar in association with Stones Throw Records. Today, he's confirmed a full album is the on the way.

His new song "Agüita" arrived today with an accompanying video for the blistering new cut, which is the title track off his upcoming album, out Oct. 2. It's the followup to his 2017 debut Jardín.

According to Garzón-Montano, the new record will continue his mission of embracing a wide range of musical styles without settling into one particular genre.

“Genre has never been a consideration,” he says. “The idea of genre uses fear of failure as a baseline. Genre puts the music in a box. This album is anti-genre. Anti-fear. Anti-box.”
