Nashville got a double-dose of one of Music City's favorite imports this week, as North Carolina quintet Rainbow Kitten Surprise dropped in four a two-night stint at the Ryman.

Variance was on hand for the first of the two nights on Sunday, which is actually the end of the first leg of the band's 2019, with a number of others recently added to the schedule, including shows in Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles and Louisville.

RKS has been touring in support of their 2018 album How to: Friend, Love, Freefall, which marked their debut on Elektra Records. The tour also comes in the middle of a busy time for the band, which will also be making their debut on the long-running TV series Austin City Limits, recording the performance on May 6 for a premiere later this year on PBS.
