The upcoming Tupac biopic All Eyez on Me will hit theaters on June 16, 2017.

An Instagram video from star Demetrius Shipp Jr.'s birthday party hinted at the June release, but a rep for the film confirmed Tuesday the premiere is indeed set for the 16th, which would have been Tupac Shakur's 46th birthday.

The film, directed by Benny Boom, captures the West Coast emcee's rise in the '90s, his conflicts with Biggie Smalls and his shocking death in 1996.

In addition to Shipp, the cast includes Jamal Woolward, reprising his role as The Notorious B.I.G. from the 2009 film Notorious; Dominic L. Santana as Suge Knight. The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira as Shakur's mother, Afeni; Kat Graham as his lifelong friend Jada Pinkett; Stefon Washington as Puff Daddy; and Lauren Cohan as Leila Steinberg, his mentor and manager.
