AMC has unsurprisingly renewed The Walking Dead for a fifth season.

The news comes after the ratings juggernaut saw a stratospheric season four debut earlier this month with 16.1 million viewers (20.2 million counting DVR) tuning in for its season premiere, further separating itself as the most-watched cable series of all time. (That's more than double, or even triple, what many broadcast shows get on any given week.)

There are also currently plans to create a spinoff of the show.
