With 120,000 copies sold this past week, Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2 has returned to the No. 1 spot, crowning the Billboard 200 for a second time in three weeks.
The album, which debuted at No. 1, was temporarily replaced last week by Lady Gaga's new effort, ARTPOP. But with only a 43% drop, the rapper's set climbs back up to the top this week. MMLP2 also went platinum last week after reaching 1 million copies sold. Not too bad of a month for Eminem.
Meanwhile, ARTPOP drops a whopping 86% in its second week, selling only 46,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Those numbers prove Gaga's new LP was likely extremely front-loaded with pre-orders from hardcore fans and it could very well be a steady drop from this point forward.
Coincidentally, both albums are on Interscope.
