Abel Tesfaye (aka The Weekend) has "earned" his first solo top 10 in the States as his Fifty Shades of Grey contribution "Earned It" has climbed to No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100.
With 120,000 copies sold, 8.3 million streams and a radio audience of 22 million, the track is Tesfaye's highest-charting song outside of last year's Ariana Grande collaboration "Love Me Harder," which peaked at No. 7 in November.
Meanwhile, fellow Fifty Shades contributor Ellie Goulding has reached No. 3 with "Love Me Like You Do" (205,000 sold, 9.6 million streams), giving the British songstress her highest chart placement since her No. 2-peaking "Lights" in 2012.
Of course, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk!" remains No. 1 for an eighth consecutive week with 257,000 sold and 19.8 million streams, widening its lead over Ed Sheeran's No. 2 "Thinking Out Loud," which had previously been chasing right behind "Funk!" but it now on the decline.
