After announcing earlier this month his plans to release an autobiography, Phil Collins says he is "no longer officially retired."

Telling Rolling Stone in a new interview "the horse is out of the stable and I'm raring to go," Collins revealed he is building a studio in his Miami home and plans to start recording new music within the next month.

Explaining that he's inspired by his young kids who now "want to see what their dad does," the former Genesis singer-drummer expects to release a new solo album and hit the road as well, but he cautions that he doesn't "think I want a very long tour."

Acknowledging that such news will likely stir hopes of a Genesis reunion, the 64-year-old musician said he is open to it but he is focused on a solo run for now. "I love the guys," he said. "I would just prefer to do this first. For now, let's just see how this goes."

As we previously mentioned, Collins signed an extensive deal with Warner Music earlier this year and his reissuing his solo catalog, beginning on Nov. 6 with his 1981 debut Face Value and his 1993 LP Both Sides.
