In the early 2000s, a plethora of bands emerged out of Brooklyn, New York. That’s not to say this wasn’t happening all over the place at the time. Many of those bands had their day in the spotlight and have since quietly dissolved in the background while others found their stride and fanbase and have since continued to create new music enlisting a new generation of listeners along the way.

The music duo Phantogram definitely falls in this camp, having recently released their fifth studio album Memory of a Day last year via Neon Gold. The album, a direct result of the hangover effects from the pandemic and the non-linear reality we can all relate to in our own lives as listeners. The band is currently on tour and made their stop through to the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom—an enchanting way for Chicago fans to celebrate Valentine's Day with their loved ones.

Here’s hoping for a second date with the duo in the near future, and in the meantime, I’ll have a my own memory of the day.
