New year, new music.

That's true, thanks to newcomer Mark Diamond, who is heading into the first weekend of 2019 with the release of his debut single "Steady." It's a dazzling listen and it comes as the 25-year-old Seattle native has been busy in the studio.

After being kicked out of college and working as a barista at a local coffee shop, Diamond became determined to pursue his true dream of music, writing, recording and producing his own material. He's now signed to Pearl Jam's Stardog Records and Republic Records.

"This song is a bit of a push and pull, undiluted sexiness, I would say," admits Diamond of the new track. "I have never had more fun making music in my entire life. Music should make people feel good more than it makes them feel bad. Not necessarily ‘happy’ songs, but songs that make you feel better about life than when you started listening to it."

"Steady" is officially out Friday (Jan. 4), but you can hear it below (via Ones to Watch).
