Italy native NIKO is heading into the weekend with the release of his new single "The One."

The glistening new track arrived Thursday across digital platforms, serving as a preview of the emerging singer's debut RMNC 21 EP, which is expected to arrive next year.

The New York-based artist wrote and recorded the new cut on a hot summer afternoon in Los Angeles, inspired by the frustration of modern dating and exhilarating sexual attraction when meeting someone new.

"It's a romantic, upbeat song, inspired by the first moments with someone you're attracted to," says NIKO, who calls the likes of George Michael, Madonna and Janet Jackson inspiration for his music. "It reminisces on warm summer nights, spent in and out of bars and clubs, longing for affection, and looking for 'the one.'"
