Following last year's release of his debut single "Is There Enough Love?," emerging singer CHRLES is heading into this weekend with brand new music.

His beaming new single "On Hold," a perfectly shiny pop cut, officially arrives Friday, but he's giving Variance an early and premiering the track today, a day ahead of the worldwide release.

"The song tells the story of unrequited love and the struggles that come with it," he says, recalling the track's inspiration. "I wrote it with the producer, and I think we succeeded to convey that vibe with the tension that builds throughout the chorus."

The new track is CHRLES' second release on the newly formed singles label The Playbook, which launched earlier this year with the goal of releasing a new song each month.
