Ben Howard's new album Noonday Dream is here.
The British crooner and longtime Variance favorite released his new LP on Friday. It's out across digital platforms via Republic/Island Records, and while its arrival date is no doubt the result of artist and label planning, it also comes as there is increased uneasiness and tension around much of the world.
In the midst of dark times, Howard's latest 10-track effort is a beacon of light, an immersive escape, perhaps reflective of the singer's experience creating the new record.
Noonday Dream was recorded over the course of two years in various studios across Europe as well as in southwest France. It comes four years after his last album, I Forget Where We Were, which was among Variance's Best Albums of 2014.
The new record includes previously released tracks "A Boat to an Island on the Wall," "Towing the Line" and "Murmurations." In addition to the new music, Howard is also heading out on tour.
