After returning back in March with new song "Sanctify," Years & Years on Thursday released their new single "If You're Over Me."
The shimmering, newly released cut is the first official single off the U.K. outfit's upcoming sophomore album Palo Santo, which will arrive July 6 via Interscope Records.
“This is a song about trying to stay friends with an ex," frontman Olly Alexander says of the new song. "Spoiler alert—it doesn't often work. In fact, in my experience, the relationship often ends up ruined. ‘If You're Over Me’ is about the emotional torture that ensues—meeting up and making out, then breaking up all over again, then making out some more.”
In addition to the new album, the band is teasing a short film of the same name, narrated by iconic actress Judi Dench.
