Emerging singer Jesse Wells (aka Welles) has released his new single "Seventeen."

The new cut is a gritty, passionate offering produced by Grammy-winner Dave Cobb, best known for his work with other Variance favorites such as Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson and Chris Stapleton. It serves as a preview of the 23-year-old Ozark, Arkansas native's upcoming debut album Red Trees and White Trashes, which is expected to arrive June 15 on 300 Entertainment.

The new music follows Welles' debut Codeine EP, which was released last year. He's also currently on tour in Europe and the U.K. supporting Highly Suspect.

In addition to the new song's release, Welles also performed "Seventeen" for NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly, shot recently at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.

Hear "Seventeen" below or on any digital platform, followed by video of the Last Call performance.
