MGMT is definitely to be teasing new music.
The band, whose live schedule has been limited this year, on Thursday shared a brief, 10-second visual clip on Twitter consisting of instrumental music accompanied by a glitchy variations of the name "MGMT," with the hashtag #LittleDarkAge, nodding to the title of the long-awaited album.
The duo had first promised to "re-dominate your mind hole" in 2016, but kept a relatively low profile last year until revising their plans last September, vowing to now make a big splash in 2017, even booking festival slots at Life Is Beautiful, Hangout Festival, Panorama and more.
MGMT has performed the title track to Little Dark Age during their festival appearances, including back in May at Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis. The audio in the clip shared today matches that of the song they have previously played live.
There's no word yet on when the single or the album will arrive, but this new teaser is a very positive sign for eager fans.
