Production duo Evan Griffith and James Mock (aka Karoak) have shared a new remix of emerging singer Lauv's "I Like Me Better."

Dubbed a lounge mix of the fast-rising track, which has already surpassed 100 million plays on Spotify, the new rendition is premiering Tuesday on Variance. With the aid of a '53 vintage lap steel slide guitar and a crisp, tropical beat, it gives the original cut an infectious new energy.

"We first discovered Lauv through his remix contest for 'I Like Me Better,'" Karoak tells Variance about their mix. While they missed the contest, they were still intrigued by the song. "We loved the vulnerability and honesty of the track and decided to give it a shot anyway," they said of their version, which they hopes has "just the right mix of chill vibes and upbeat energy to get you ready for your Saturday night on the town."

Karoak's Griffith and Mock met at Dartmouth College and quickly hit it off, eventually working on music together and workshopping new beats and remixes.
