Today is a good day because we've got new music from Beyoncé.
She has lent her voice to Colombian reggaeton singer J Balvin and French producer Willy William's chart-climbing single "Mi Gente," jumping a new remix of the track which was released on Thursday night.
"He say my body stay wetter than the ocean / And he say the creole in my body is like a potion," she sings on her new verse "I can be a beast or I can give you emotion." She continues: "Lift up your people / From Texas, Puerto Rico / Dem Islands to Mexico," which is intentional, as she is donating all of her proceeds from the song to hurricane and earthquake relief.
"Mi Gente" is one of the latest Spanish-language songs to surge on the U.S. charts. Last month, it also topped the Spotify global chart, replacing Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s "Despacito," which also got a major boost from an A-list remix featuring Justin Bieber.
