As Foster the People darts toward their new album next month, the band has shared an eerie, synthy new track "Loyal Like Sid & Nancy."
It's somewhat of a left turn for the Mark Foster-led group, which has long been an alt radio favorite. But Foster's ghostly vocals and eccentric lyricism are still on full display on the track, which seems to allude to the destructive, codependent relationship of the Sex Pistols' Sid Vicious and his girlfriend-manager Nancy Spungen, who died, allegedly at the hands of the musician.
"Sid & Nancy" is the latest preview of Foster the People's third full-length, Sacred Hearts Club, which is out July 21 on Columbia Records. It follows the previously released tracks “Doing It For The Money”, “Pay the Man” and “SHC.”
