Emerging emcee Brandyn Kaine has returned with the sequel track to his standout "Artist Type," which was among Variance's 100 Best Songs of 2016.
Like its predecessor, "Artist Type 2" nods to an unnamed female who has a thing for musicians, especially someone like Kaine, whose rise is imminent. But he sees through her.
"I'm a fool for writing, guilty pleasure, I suppose," Kaine asserts before declaring more bluntly: "She only fuck me 'cause she know that I'm about to blow."
While the original seemed reflective of an artist with something to prove, the followup is brimming with confidence, as if Kaine is acknowledging he's found his stride and he's reveling in it.
