Macklemore is back with a new single "Glorious," the first from his upcoming solo album.

In a note about the Skylar Grey-assisted track, Macklemore said he and longtime collaborator Ryan Lewis agreed after touring for last year's This Unruly Mess I've Made they needed some "creative space" apart. Referring to him as his "brother" and noting he'll be the best man at Lewis' wedding next month, Macklemore said the decision is coming "from a place of love for one another."

"Last November, I built a studio in the basement of my home and got back to the basics," he said about the new song. "I was able to find a balance with my art, recovery and being a dad. I felt the perfect amount of removal from an industry that can be tricky to spiritually navigate."
