Four years after the release of their debut self-titled album, The Lumineers are ready to release their followup this spring.
The trio comprised of Wesley Schultz, Jeremiah Fraites and Neyla Pekarek on Friday morning released "Ophelia," the buoyant first single off the forthcoming record, Cleopatra, which will be released April 8 on Dualtone Records.
"We took the same approach this time as we did with the first album, recording demos in a small house we rented in the original Denver neighborhood where we first moved," Shultz said of the album, which he's also described as "a heavier record." According to the singer, "there was a lot of battling, a lot of tears, but some amazing stuff came out, and at the end, we were much better off. It transformed our relationship."
The band has also announced dates for the first leg of a global tour, which will begin on April 14 in Bristol.
