Gary Clark Jr. has shared two new tracks, "The Healing" and "Grinder," both previews of his upcoming album The Story of Sonny Boy Slim, which will be released Sept. 11 on Warner Bros. Records.

Fans who pre-order the record will receive both songs as instant downloads, with additional advance tracks to be announced later.

The Story of Sonny Boy Slim was written and produced by Clark, who also plays most of the instruments, with the assistance of his longtime live soundman Bharath "Cheex" Ramanat and Jason Sciba. Clark's sisters Shawn and Savannah provided backing vocals.

The album is described in a press release as an "uncanny evolution of an artist embracing his roots with a rarified grace, style, and an inextinguishable passion."

In addition to a number of upcoming festival dates, Clark is set to join Foo Fighters on their tour in September, but he's also scheduled a massive headlining trek of his own, which will begin in October.

Hear both the bluesy, soulful "The Healing" and grittier "Grinder" below, followed by Gary Clark Jr.'s upcoming tour dates.
