Brooklyn's Charles Pinele and Sam Radseresht, together known as Astronaughty, have released their shimmering debut single "Try Much Harder."

It's a solid pop entry that puts the newly formed outfit in Hot Chip and Two Door Cinema Club territory. And having previously remixed Metronomy's "Everything Goes My Way," their own song is already a dance floor-ready candidate.

“Melodically, our goal was to sound pop and try to be generous with our songwriting," Radseresht said of the track. "We also wanted to achieve some level of beauty/surrealism with our production, our synth sounds and our harmonic arrangements. We wanted to expand upon the pop surface of the songs and allow for lyrics and production to introduce a darker element to the tracks.”

The pair is performing live for the first time at their single release party Thursday night at Good Room in Brooklyn.
