Ongoing Variance favorite Ben Steiner (aka Seph Cove) returned Thursday with a new song and it finds the singer exploring new ground as he diverts from some of his past, introspective sounds with a big, expansive new track called "Higher Now."

It's a song about letting go of his inner demons, says Steiner, and it's also a preview of the singer's upcoming EP, which is expected later this year. The new music follows Seph Cove's 2022 Unsafe Passage EP, which he talked with Variance about ahead of that project's release.

As for "Higher Now," it feels bigger, more urgent, a testament of growth for Steiner as an artist, and it's a welcome entry in his quickly expanding catalog.
