Newcomer Trey Bond is getting quite the co-sign for his official debut.
The Brisbane-based artist on Friday released his new single "Start Over," a collaborator featuring Atlanta rapper 6LACK. It marks Bond's first release since signing to Def Jam's Australian arm, and it's a simmering introduction, leaving us anxious for more and making clear he has a bright future ahead.
“I tend to not write things down and instead freestyle until I find the right words to get my story across," says Bond. "For ‘Start Over,’ I just let it all spill out over the guitars and I think that's what really gives it its authenticity. Then my team connected me to 6lack and he cut it in just a few days. I knew he’d be perfect for this one."
