Sudan Archives is heading into the weekend with the release of her new album Natural Brown Prom Queen.

The artist's boundless sophomore project arrived Friday via Stones Throw, and it's a worthy listen, showcasing her imaginative talent and genre-bending skillset. The album is centered on an overarching theme of "home," which is reflected by lyrics about both Sudan’s adopted hometown of Los Angeles and Cincinnati, where she grew up.

Later this month, Sudan will take the record on a North American tour, which will be followed by a European trek later this fall.

Hear the new album now.
