In the States, it's a holiday weekend, which is perfect timing for Paolo Nutini's new album to arrive.
The Scottish singer's fourth full-length, Last Night in the Bittersweet, arrived Friday, and it deserves time and space to really soak it in and enjoy, as it is arguably Nutini's best work yet, expanding on his sound with the kind of riveting, powerful performances fans have long loved as well as intense, infectious melodies exploring new territory.
The new album follows a string of new songs previously released, including the standout single "Through the Echoes" as well as "Lose It," "Acid Eyes" and "Petrified in Love."
To celebrate the album's release, Nutini has begun performing a number of European and U.K. dates, continuing next week in Glasgow, before heading to Rome, Berlin, Zurich, Milan, Paris, Brussels, Edinburgh and London over the next few months.
