18 year-old British artist Lia Rye has just dropped a potent alt pop/rock release with “Habits.” The song speaks of a selfish person who will do anything to get what they want, damaging everything and everyone in their way. Written from her own personal experiences, the young South London based musician took this situation and turned it into a powerful and moody track which impressively showcases her authoritative vocals.

Speaking of the new single, Lia Rye shares, “It’s sort of bittersweet as I learnt not to make excuses for unacceptable behaviour, but I had to ponder on the journey it took for me to gain that understanding.” Taking inspiration from the 80’s, the Brit fuses bold soundscapes with colliding percussion and an overall sullen ambience reminiscent of the likes of Bring Me The Horizon meets Lorde.

“Habits” is off of her upcoming EP Fever Dream, which sees the artist proudly looking collectively at her music and realizing how far she has come since her debut single at just 15 years old.
