Fast-rising Los Angeles artist Grady, who has quickly become a Variance favorite, is back with new music, this time teaming up with alt-rock outfit lovelytheband.

Their new song "The Idea of You" is out today via TMWRK Records. And even though it's completely bittersweet, reflective of a love which isn't meant to be, it certainly translates into a brilliant, infectious pop song.

"I wrote it after telling a girl I had a shaky history with that I still loved her," recalls Grady. "She said, ‘I think you love the idea of me’ but even if that was the case, just thinking of her made me feel fuzzy and that was enough. When I played it for Mitchy he said he wanted to hop on and it was a wrap."

Adds lovelytheband's Mitchy Collins: "Grady is a good friend and talented songwriter. He played me the song as it was in the works and I connected with the hook lyric instantly. I wanted to jump on and add my perspective to it. I’m proud of how it all came together."

"Idea" follows Grady's recent solo standout "All In," which came with a video which lampooned the business of dating apps. It's just the latest example of why he is definitely one to watch right now.
