It might only be January, but Arlo Parks is getting an early start on what is surely going to be a breakout year for the young singer.

Her massive debut album Collapsed in Sunbeams arrived Friday via Transgressive Records. And despite its release so early in the year, its definitely fast-tracked as one of the year's best, as she shines with vulnerable and poetic songwriting, while leaning in on her kaleidoscopic vocals with a no-frills presentation of young life and love.

"My album is a series of vignettes and intimate portraits surrounding my adolescence and the people that shaped it," she says. "It is rooted in storytelling and nostalgia—I want it to feel both universal and hyper specific."
