Emerging Los Angeles-based artist Colby Lafayette is gearing up to release a new EP next month, and he's just shared the first single called "BUMPIN 16'S."

The blistering new cut finds the 24-year-old Boston native riding in a lane with the likes of BROCKHAMPTON, Odd Future and 99 Neighbours, bridging his influences of rock legends like Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana with his love for genre-bending hop-hop such as Childish Gambino and Kendrick Lamar.

While Lafayette was a great student in high school, he decided to bypass college and relocate to L.A., a move which resulted in a period of personal and artistic development and heartbreak, a symbolic broken hard drive, loss, grief and the all too common growing pains of an artist in a new world.

His journey has led to SO BAD, his upcoming six-track EP, which is out on Nov. 17. The project is one of reflection, created entirely in quarantine.
