Summer is here and Megan Thee Stallion is keeping the heat coming with her new single "Girls in the Hood."

She dropped her new single Friday, coming just weeks after hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the remix of her song "Savage," featuring Beyoncé. On this new song, which samples Eazy-E's "Boyz-N-The-Hood," Meg delivers an ode to her roots and the streets where she grew up.

Of course, that isn't all she's done recently for her hometown. As we previously mentioned, she and Beyoncé donated proceeds from "Savage" to a Houston charity helping the local community in the fight against COVID-19.

It's also probably not a coincidence "Girls in the Hood" is arriving this weekend, ahead of the 2020 BET Awards, where Meg has five nominations. The virtual ceremony takes place this Sunday live on BET and CBS at 8 p.m. EST.
